Our Program
At Camp Nah-Jee-Wah, we believe that camp is the perfect place to be completely yourself! Our age appropriate programming is designed to be fun, stimulating, and engaging for every kind of camper while introducing many different types of experiences in athletics, waterfront, arts, outdoor adventure, science, and drama.
Each day, campers participate in six activity periods, two of which (or three, if they’re entering 6th grade) they get to choose themselves. Campers are grouped and housed by grade, with each group in camp being referred to as a division. The division follows a schedule each day designed specifically for their age group to promote personal development as well as strong friendships.
- Abi (Entering 1st-4th grade girls)
- Asher (Entering 1st-4th grade boys)
- Naomi (Entering 5th grade girls)
- Dan (Entering 5th grade boys)
- Hannah (Entering 6th grade girls)
- Levi (Entering 6th grade boys)
Waterfront
Sun-kissed skin and wide smiles are the result of a day out on the water. Our 15-acre private lake is the perfect place to learn how to kayak, canoe, paddle board, and more. Oh, and did we mention a full-sized water trampoline and a 100 foot water slide? This summer, don’t be afraid to make a splash!
Athletics
It’s time to get your head in the game! We offer an array of recreational and competitive sports that are played on our premier facilities. Our professional coaches provide instruction in each activity that is designed to meet the needs of each individual’s ability.
Arts
Wondering what happens when creativity meets inspiration? Through our vast art offerings, we encourage campers to channel their inventiveness while allowing their imagination to flow freely. From painting and drawing to pottery wheels, there are endless opportunities to bring out the artist in everyone.
Outdoor Adventure
During Outdoor Adventure, the Pocono Mountains and forests are transformed into our playground filled with zip-lines, climbing walls, and more. Challenged and inspired to go beyond their comfort zone, campers become more confident, brave, and skilled in our wide variety of outdoor activities.
STEM
Our STEM program takes learning to the next level and beyond the typical classroom setting. From teaching campers how to code lego robots, to physics, chemistry, sports science and more, experiments await all who enter the NJY Science Center.
The Jewish Experience
Campers become part of a Jewish communal experience where they gain a connection to Israel and our rich Jewish heritage in a fun and relaxed setting. Camp Nah-Jee-Wah is an environment that celebrates Jewish identity and proudly embraces Jewish values. Our unique and spirited Shabbat services are led by song leaders and campers, and include favorite camp songs, skits, creative prayers, and stories. Our connection to Israel is fostered by our Israeli campers and staff, and greatly enhances the overall Jewish experience for our campers.
To complement Shabbat, we run a Root Values program that introduces our campers to values such as friendship (Chaverut), respect (Kavod), and kindness (Chesed), all of which are essential to creating the beautiful Nah-Jee-Wah community as we know it. Campers can even nominate their peers to win awards for exhibiting these Root Values throughout the summer. We’re all about building Mensches at Camp Nah-Jee-Wah!
Special Programs
Some of the most unforgettable Camp Nah-Jee-Wah moments are when the entire camp is brought together as one. Whether it’s a display of talent at our Talent Show, Oscars Ceremony and Lip Sync Battle, or our thrilling Maccabiah (Color War), Israel Day, and Fourth of July Fireworks, there are countless incredible special programs at Camp Nah-Jee-Wah that simultaneously bring out our friendly competition and our endless support for one another.
Through it all, its the Ruach (Spirit) of Camp Nah-Jee-Wah that turns these amazing programs into lifelong memories.
